Little zong zi for Taiwanese Dragon Boat Day 粿粽

Here is a traditional Taiwanese way to make Zong Zi for Dragon Boat Day! Joanne has previously made regular Zong Zi which are larger than these and use regular gains of cooked sticky rice in the process. These smaller Zong Zi are constructed with the filling enveloped within a dough made up of mostly sticky rice flour. Other than that the filling is largely the same but also you are free to switch around and balance the filling ingredients to fit in with your and your family’s tastebuds. If you like a particular ingredient such as… mushrooms you can put more in to balance the flavour that way.

Below is a rather long list of ingredients but remember, as mentioned above, the filling can be customised to suit you and its probably going to be fine if you don’t have a minor ingredient on the day you get round to cooking these. Please make sure you watch the video with this one as Joanne’s construction technique needs to be seen!
