This year we decided to have this as part of our special Chinese New Year meal – Chicken Confit 封雞. This is a good meal for the whole family, it’s a traditional part of the Taiwanese New Year dinner and it looks good on the table too!

Confit Chicken, ready to eat!
The ingredients 食材 for 2 people;
- whole chicken
Ingredients
- 2 bulbs of garlic
- ginger,
- shitake mushrooms
- some mooli
- some bamboo
- a carrot
- soy sauce
- 5 spice
- sugar
- plus extra sugar to fry
